Essential Accessories You Need for Your Earth Drill

Essential Accessories You Need for Your Earth Drill

You can take your earth drill or auger applications to the next level with the right attachments. Adding additional components to your tool maximizes the efficiency and allows you to use the drill for much more than just drilling boreholes. Explore these essential accessories you need for your earth drill to determine which will benefit you more in construction projects.

Bucket Attachments

What do the site conditions look like in your construction zone? Wet or soggy soil can be challenging to remove from a borehole. Bucket attachments work wonders in this scenario because they help to remove unconsolidated materials. The bucket makes performing the drilling application much easier and more straightforward by aiding in extracting liquefied materials.

Auger Teeth

Depending on your earth drill, you may be able to attach different auger teeth onto the auger to help you dig through various materials. For example, carbide teeth are excellent for more compact soil or when your ground freezes because it cuts the earth into smaller pieces. Not every tooth you have on the auger will work for every application. Therefore, various auger teeth are essential accessories you need for your earth drill. Keeping a variety of tools on-hand allows you to swap out components for unique applications.

Utility Anchors

You can set utility anchors into the ground to stabilize the load of a structure or concrete foundation, making the work site safer for crew members. Applying these anchors with your earth drill is much faster than manual insertion. However, if you’re using this accessory with your auger, ensure you have the correct additional tools you need to install utility anchors. Without the proper tools, you cannot insert this component into the ground.

Wear Pads

Your earth drill is not perfect, and the more you utilize the tool in the field, the more wear and tear it will experience. You can reduce wear and tear to your auger by installing wear pads to the flighting to prevent damage from drilling. Depending on how often you use the tool, you may need to replace your flighting from time to time. That said, wear pads can help minimize the damage and extend the lifespan of this particular attachment.

Your auger or earth drill can perform many applications on your construction site with the help of various accessories. If you have yet to add these components to your tools, now is the time to consider them because they can make your job easier—who wouldn’t want that? Which tools or attachments will you accessorize your earth drill with first?
